Not All Clowns are Creepy

Anna Hrachovec of Mochimochi Land makes lots of knitted toys.

Originally known for her incredibly cute toy knitting patterns, Anna has recently focused on knitted tiny things. She has done solo art shows of tiny things and has published many Tiny Mochi patterns including the pattern book Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi and several digital pattern collections.

Tiny Mochis are showing up everywhere! This one even came to Purl Jam last week to celebrate Janice’s birthday (Kelly’s project details on Ravelry):

Anna also runs caption contests for photos of Tiny Mochis on her Mochimochi Land blog. I rarely enter these contests because the competition is fierce and quite clever. However, when I saw the most recent contest for a Tiny Clown photo caption which asked “What’s an escaped tiny clown to do?”, I knew exactly my answer would be.

Mochimochi Land Contest: This tiny clown is running away from the circus! He’s just escaped a life of seltzer water in the face and getting crammed into a car, but he’s not sure where to go next. What’s an escaped tiny clown to do?

And I won! Not only did she pick my caption, but she made a special Tiny Clown photo to match:

My caption: Tiny Clown hopes to replace Ronald McDonald as the new representative for a diet conscious McWorld with the slogan “Super Downsize Me!”.

I particularly like that she added Tiny Burgers to go with my caption because I love the description that goes with this pattern: “He’s going through a tiny crisis because he just found out he’s really made of soy!”

Reported by Tracey, who was a tiny clown every year for Halloween throughout her childhood.

Wow, awesome. I love it. And it takes a lot for me to like a clown.
